During this semester, the SFI! team is tasked with taking lessons and ideas from the previous prototypes and creating one cohesive experience. Our previous groups are reorganized by expertise and interest: graphic design, content creation, and design of the physical exhibit.
The groups are striking a balance between moving forward as a team and keeping an open dialogue among the groups themselves. Each group’s work affects the overall experience they are creating together.
After each class, the groups report their findings and ideas to each other, opening the floor for suggestions as well as keeping everyone on the same page. This is crucial to working on a large project: every team member is responsible for keeping his or her partners in the loop.
The SFI! team also received a visit from Rankin Automation, a supplier for the aluminum slotted framing system that will be the basis of the exhibit structure. Exploring the possibilities of the system and seeing it in use sparked ideas for the team.
Ideas and lessons from last semester are becoming concrete solutions. May is approaching quickly!
